The Detox Series: How to Achieve Your Best Skin Ever Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of our Skin Detox series. We have so many tips to share with you we just can’t fit them all in one post! Let us continue, shall we?

Mind your diet

Remember that we are what we eat. Food is more than just a source of energy. Our bodies use it to build and repair itself as well. So imagine this – if you keep eating things that come in a box, your body has no choice but to build itself from whatever that’s made from, which is usually something you can’t even pronounce. Let’s begin with some food products that are not only good for your body, but are great at detoxifying the skin as well:

  • Everyone knows you can use cucumbers to depuff tired eyes. But did you know that consuming them can help slow down aging? That’s right! Cucumbers contain silicon, which helps control wrinkles and improve skin elasticity.
  • Although they’re a little tricky to eat, avocadoes are great for skin detoxifying because of their high zinc content, which cleanses the body. They’re full of vitamins A, E and B and biotin. Avocados help your skin stay hydrated and your nails and hair stay strong and vibrant. They are a good source of zinc, which cleanses and detoxifies your body.

On the other hand, there are some food products that you should steer clear from because they stimulate the skin to produce excessive oil. Excess sebum is one of the primary causes of acne, being notorious for its ability to clog pores. These oil-producing foods include:

  • Foods containing animal fats
  • Dairy
  • Chocolate
  • Commercial fats
  • Processes foods
